Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 892 , Tuesday 07/04/2026

Tuesday started at around 07:30.

Mrs S was off to the office so it was a nice quiet day!

It’s been a really sunny day & after Iunch I decided to fight the door demons & get some gardening done!

As I was digging up a rather chunky weed I turned to leaver it out of the ground & felt something go ‘twang’ in my leg - then the pain hit - a severe ouchy moment!

I hobbled around putting stuff away & by the time I got back inside I could limp reasonably well so I don’t think I’ve done any serious damage. It is however painful!

Having failed miserably at the gardening I decided to do a little more with my newly linuxed MacBook & discovered Kubuntu! The answer to all the wifi problems as the installer allows one to use an Ethernet cabled connection for the install! Also it has a lot more bright & shiny toys & gizmos! So once more I wiped & rebuilt the MacBook!

Final Thoughts.

Well today was a mixed bag!

I’m supposed to go for a tour of the local swimming baths - to qualify for reduced membership - tomorrow but I might have to defer it if my leg is still gammy!

This anecdote is for anyone who believes I have some sort of social superpower or that I'm good at catching social cues.

At a recent kink event, someone was trying to remember my name after recognizing me at a different event. They then mentioned an art museum, and narrated the path from the entrance to a specific mural with "the most beautiful woman I've ever seen" and said I reminded them of that mural.

I only just realized that it was a really smooth compliment and not about getting me interested in an art museum (I love art museums already).

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 891 , Monday 06/04/2026

Monday started at around 07:15.

Breakfast & chores as normal then we went to Mrs S’s mum’s via her grave,where we laid flowers & tried to get some inspiration for the gravestone.

Spent a few hours clearing out what was left in my MiLs loft, so much stuff! Mostly curtains & old clothes so most of it will be going to the charity shop / recycling.

We did find a few nic-naks that we brought home but nothing much.

The afternoon was spent relaxing & finishing the current series of ‘Silent Witness’ then we watched the movie ‘Insomnia’ with the late, great Robin Williams & Al Pacino.

I fell down the Ubuntu rabbit hole again this evening & now have a fairly stable Ubuntu install.
Everything seems to work apart from when it sleeps - which it won’t wake up from, the solution, it seems, is simply to disallow that functionality - Hey ho.

Final Thoughts.

Not a bad day, Mrs S is back in the office tomorrow so a much needed peaceful day!

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 890 , Sunday 05/04/2026

Sunday has been a moderately frustrating day I managed to break the dual boot on the MBP & then decided to make it a Linux only box.
This has not been without its problems!

It’s mostly sorted now but I need to check a few things out tomorrow.

In other news, Easter eggs were consumed & Mrs S got some chocolate cake too!

I will have to go on a diet very soon!

Sometimes things just don’t go the way you planned!
