It's not that traditional forms of mobility cost more (they actually don't) - the expensive challenge is in weaning ourselves off of car dependency while many are addicted to it, and our leaders tell us it is somehow fine and normal.

At some point soon, we're going to need to move in a different way. We can choose to be intentional about it, or we can ignore the dangers and fall (hard!!) when the excesses of our unsustainable overconsumption collapse under us.

To all those accepting unquestioningly the unaspirational and weak early moves of this freshly minted coalition to give up on delivering transport infrastructure needs because they might 'cost too much':

New Zealanders collectively spend at least $1.6B EVERY WEEK on #carDependency. Whether you drive a car or not. It's an unfair and unhealthy situation.

While it's going to be a bit windy today #picnicsInParks will be on at Jessie St in front of Good Books with poetry! From 11am. Bring some verse to recite or just come listen.
I made a bench to sit on in our patio area.
