This was one of the most amazing things I saw at the Seattle Asian Art Museum recently—this cube of intricately cut metal, lit from within, that turned the whole room into an artistic interplay of darkness and light. Casting all the visitors into the installation; shadows on the walls.

A sensible government right now wouldn't try to keep energy prices down at the cost of everybody by indebting themselves further to the rich.
It would try to curtail excess use of fossil energy. E.g. immediate policies would be to ground private planes, enact a tempo limit for fossil cars. This does more for the poorest of consumers because they'll not be served the bill over time for this.
