JebA primary criticism I have of modern #therapy is: #Therapists don't tell you what the goals are.
So I'm thinking, "what are the goals of therapy?" And I'm reminded of McLuhan's "The Medium Is the Message" - the idea that HOW something is communicated can be more important than WHAT.
What, then, is the medium of therapy? To teach us #UnconditionalAcceptance of ourselves. To self-soothe. To model care for us until we learn to do it for ourselves. To teach us to become our own therapists.
