Founded in 2020, we are a BIPOC-led nonprofit organization dedicated to autoimmune health equity. Disabled-led. ACICommunity.org #Disabled #Immunocompromised
We will be moving on, to another instance. We are a volunteer run nonprofit and we don’t have employment. Fundraising and sharing our podcasts and research are what we do to serve our community and we will have to leave to do this.
We are an organization by, for and about autoimmune disabled individuals. We just want you to know that! Acicommunity.org

Today's newsletter is out for Motivation Monday. We discuss the topic of Flourishing in Public Health, and a VanderWeele et al. article from 2019 where we envision a new public health beyond the mere absence of disease. (But then there was a 2020 - present a global pandemic but hey...) How can public health professionals flourish as an act of resistance and public health revolution, while protecting, caring for, and controlling this COVID sh*tshow?

Motivation Mondays: Flourishing in Public Health

Public Health Podcast and Media Network Motivation Mondays: Public Health News Happy Holiday Season!Today we are discussing the topic of flourishing in public health. This takes us back into 2019, before the start of the pandemic. We heard of a few stories far far way, muy muy lejos de aquí, but...

Anyone… and I mean ANYONE want to hire my #Canadian wife in the United States? We’ll go anywhere.

I need to get back home, and as quickly as possible.

A green card application for us could take 12-20 months. A work visa would be ideal. She is Master’s level educated, works in #Banking w/ #Tech and #ProjectManagement experience.

I am chronically ill and need help asap.

Boosts appreciated.

Macron appeared in public wearing a mask. The semiotics of this is interesting.

Macron's appearance communicates that wearing a mask is the responsible thing, and he offers everyone in doubt a role model.

On the other, the type of mask he wears communicates that we shouldn't take masks too seriously
he's wearing a surgical mask, while it's by now well-known that filtering masks FFP2 are needed to reduce meaningfully the chance of transmission of airborne viruses

Episode 2 was about the science of autoimmune disease, where we had the opportunity to speak to the late Dr. Noel Rose a few years ago. Dr. Rose shared his experience of conducting autoimmune research with rabbits to identify the autoimmune nature of Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Dr. Rose is known as the "father of autoimmune disease" as he was the first to identify autoimmune disease as its own diagnosis.
