@christi3k we have the fuel Thermacell bug repellant, friends have the rechargable. They seem to work for mosquitos and somewhat on gnats. Did not have any wasps without them and they didn't seem to attract any.

This was originally titled “I miss when computers were fun”. But in the course of writing it, I discovered that there is a reason computers became less fun, a dark thread woven through a number of events in recent history. Let me back up a bit.

Perl 5.42 was released this afternoon. Perl still has a major release every year (don't believe people who tell you it hasn't changed since Perl 5.0 was released in 1994). This is not your father's Perl.
