@ekansa Probably came across some @opencontext work while searching for references to assign for that last class. Students (third year undergrads) were particularly interested in digital digs and fieldwork, at this point. But not yet into open scholarship.

@Enkerli Well, if you do see future interest in open scholarship, I'm working on some Jupyter Notebook examples that do some data visualization off @opencontext's API. A fun way to link a little programming with #anthropology / #archaeology.

@ekansa @opencontext Sounds good. It's been easy for me to get the potential of open scholarship (been beating that drum for 19 years). Just hard to teach that to some students, depending on how far along a scholarly path they are. (And which path it is.)

@ekansa @opencontext By the by, participated in the #OpenSummit by #Apereo and Open Source Initiative and organized #OKFestMtl with #OKFN. Much of our hope is to bridge #OpenAccess, #OpenScience, #OER, #OpenSource, etc. Still sounds like a useful path to take.

@Enkerli @opencontext That sounds great! It would be fun to participate in an event like that. I find myself at lots of digital library meetings in addition to archaeology. Would be great to reintegrate more with the world of #OER again too.

The links between these open worlds give me much hope, like few other things do. Sure, one side can dwarf the other. Some OER advocates even talked about OA stealing the OE thunder.
