@ai6yr
"that's wine, not blood"
- that makes it *absolute* horror!
@ai6yr it's Jeebus' blood, some would have you believe (AFAIK)
@ai6yr They wasted that much wine? The horror, the horror!
@ai6yr That is a strange pattern for earthquake damage--so many rows of bottles still perfectly straight and evenly lined up with the edges of the shelves.
@LPerry2 @ai6yr If there's any lip on the shelf, the shaking might have marched the bottles right up to the lip, lining them up. Especially if the shelf sags, they'd have a bias towards one edge such that even mild shaking would encourage them to shift that way.

@ai6yr This really stinks in every possible way.

After the Northridge earthquake, the local mini mart, and most of the others, put strings across each tray in their bottle racks to keep the bottles from falling onto the floor if the ground shook. No accidental clothing brush-bys anymore.

Has anyone called for a priest to bless the cleanup efforts? They bless wine at its birth. Why not its untimely demise?

@ai6yr How did all those other bottles remain perfectly lined up….? I mean, one good jolt to a bookshelf sends even the heaviest books flying, if one section goes they usually all go…. Oh wait that portion of the wine aisle must be built on bay fill/mud? They trucked it north? EXPLAIN THE PHYSICS OF THIS 😱
@ai6yr
Not the top shelf! That's the drinkable stuff!!! 😱
@ai6yr Oh geez, I was browsing the earthquake hashtag and thought for a moment that you were making fun of the Venezuelan earthquake with all of those tens of thousands of people dead.
@mikemccaffrey Oh no, this was Mendocino, California earlier. I'll clarify that.
