Still don't know

@Natasha_Jay

Beats me...๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

@IsabelB
Yeah me too. Seems to make less sense as I get older
@Natasha_Jay I think you know what's going on when you are a little kid. Generally your life is simple when you are young. Then things get more and more complicated as you get older and before you know it you don't really understand anything.
@Natasha_Jay I'm hitting a mature age and I know what's going on. I don't like it though.

@Natasha_Jay

It's a subtle shift that happens while you're not looking. You go from being too young to know what's going on to too old to know what's going on. There is no happy middle ground.

@Natasha_Jay You need to be able to read well. Probably teenager. That's when it's possible - but whether it happens really depends on what you decide to read.
@Natasha_Jay Dear Calvin, I'm 68 and I still don't know.
@Natasha_Jay yeah, at one point his dad said, "I don't think I've had been in such a rush to reach adulthood if I'd realized the whole thing was ad-libbed..."
@Natasha_Jay 36, wait, 42, no, 51 ๐Ÿ˜…
@Natasha_Jay At least a few years past dead, at a minimum.
@Natasha_Jay A line in a bbc radio play in the mid 80s has always stuck with me:
"It's difficult to know everything"
@Natasha_Jay I know it is more than 60
@Natasha_Jay You know more than most adults, kid. Try not to forget like everyone else does.

@Natasha_Jay

I know what's going on and I don't like it one bit.

Neither did Bill Watterson, apparently.

@Natasha_Jay I checked in with a few on the other side of the veil. They also have no idea.
@Natasha_Jay
I feel like knowing might be worse...

@Natasha_Jay I know: humanity, as a whole, is a bunch of complete and utter fools.

That's it. The end.

@Natasha_Jay
I think that is by design. ๐Ÿ˜‰

"There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory mentioned, which states that this has already happened."
- Douglas Adams

@Natasha_Jay It depends on how early someone is exposed to real-life experiences.

@Natasha_Jay i figured it out at 45 and realized it sucks and its all a scam.

Still recovering from the anger.

@Natasha_Jay it was early 30s for me. But you need to have the real desire to know and ability to critically and honestly process the information, which is tough and takes time.
@Natasha_Jay @briankrebs something older than 58 by my reckoning.

@Natasha_Jay

Ich fรผrchte, das wissen nicht mal die, die es "going on" gehen lassen โ€ฆ oder vielleicht gerade genau die nicht, und deswegen kapiert es gar keiner mehr.

@Natasha_Jay never I hope as Iโ€™m not sure I can cope with reality
@Natasha_Jay life's greatest lie is that adults have any idea what's going on at any point in time

@Natasha_Jay

41 and still waiting...

@Natasha_Jay The more you find out, the less you really know.
@thejessiekirk
Pretty much my experience too. You know enough and have the experience to realise how little you actually know

@Natasha_Jay @thejessiekirk "He's really pushed back the boundaries of ignorance."
They both savoured the strange warm glow of being much more ignorant than ordinary people, who were only ignorant of ordinary things.

Terry Pratchett

@Nikkileah Mine was Pratchett as well, Masklin from Truckers. @Natasha_Jay
@Natasha_Jay n+1, where n is your current age?`
@Natasha_Jay "Still don't know," is the only honest answer anyone could give. Beware of all who purport to _know_.
