Here is a walk around the whole perimeter as it is for now. (sorry for the Youtube link it's too long for my instance.)

This is nearly maximum water, but there are a couple of low points you can see in the pictures attached so once I shore those up, the shallow parts will be a little deeper and the edge will come all the way to the very top of the berms.

Here is a before and after from the webcam.

August 31, 2024 seems like a long time ago! Labour Day weekend of that summer I rented the excavator that dug the holes!

Summer heat permitting I'm hoping by this coming Labour Day weekend we'll have grass and paths so the backyard is a little more livable around the water!

@chris During the LA/Malibu fires last year one dude had prepared well. Pool + generator + pump = water from pool sprayed on roof and it saved his home. Fire dept had stopped, thinking he was illegally using city water to protect home and found out he was using pool water without affecting the strained city water.
@jfmezei this is definitely on the list of ‘upgrades'! I already have a small second-hand pump (the first pump we used in our smaller front yard ponds) that I use to completely empty the ponds when needed. It doesn't have enough power to run a sprinkler, but I'm sure I could find another that would.
