The Guardian has published a new map of the #Gaza yellow line. You can see that #Israel has now seized more than half of the entire strip. But this is also the very substantial majority of all Gaza's agricultural land.

This means that even if peace is restored, Gaza cannot feed itself unless Israel withdraws.

This is, in effect, a giant #ConcentrationCamp.

#GazaGenocide

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/jun/05/friday-briefing-how-gaza-lebanon-and-iran-have-found-themselves-caught-in-an-escalation-without-end

My friend @Rania , from inside #Gaza, posts this map showing an even smaller area remaining. She's on the ground, and has seen the line herself; the Guardian explicitly say that their map is constructed from satellite imagery.

So I'm more inclined to believe Rania's map.

@simon_brooke @Rania
This is absolutely true. They have confined us to a cramped place where it feels hard to breathe. Every day we face bombardment, death, and hunger. We have been forced into an area that lacks even the most basic necessities of life. Insects are everywhere, and our tents are torn and falling apart.

How much longer will this injustice continue?

Please speak about us. Do not leave us alone. We are not just numbers — we are human beings with lives, families, and dreams.

@simon_brooke
Every day the area of Gaza shrinks and the yellow line advances every day
@simon_brooke
And no one is doing anything about it. The world is not silent, why are world leaders?
@simon_brooke There is also the fact that Palestine is labeled as Israel .
Palestine is not only Gaza & the West Bank
The world is complicit in this #Genocide & #EthnicCleasing
@TheSwiv @simon_brooke
The area of Gaza has become very, very small.

@Rania An infographic map of the Gaza Strip displays colored regions in red, yellow, and green over a satellite image of the terrain. The map includes labels for "بيت حانون", "بيت لاهيا", "جباليا", "مدينة غزة", "دير البلح", "خ "خان يونس", and "رفح". On the right, a section titled "أبرز المعلومات" includes "إسرائيل رفعت سيطرتها في قطاع غز غزة إلى 64%", "توسع المنطقة الصفراء (مناطق التوغل) وصل حتى شارع صلاح الدين في عدة مناطق", "تتقلص المساحة المتاحة لحياة السكان إلى 36% فقط", "التمدد ال الإسرائيلي يقطع القطاع ويصل المناطق بعضها ببعض", and "الهدف: منع إعادة غزة وإعادة قدراتها". The top title reads "خريطة توضح توسع السيطرة الإسرائيلية ف في قطاع غزة وفق آخر المعطيات الميدانية", a bottom box states "المساحة التقر التقريبية مساحة قطاع غزة الكلية: 365 كم2 تحت السيطرة الإسرائيلية: 64% مساحة مساحة يعيش فيها السكان: 36%", and the phrase "حسبي الله ونعم الوكيل" is overlaid in large text.

@simon_brooke this is disgusting. The world leaders watch & do nothing! Nothing!
When the tide has turned & it will, there will be a reckoning! There are two sides in this battle for the soul of humanity! Our side, which supports @[email protected] @[email protected] & those that support #israhell & the #genocide
We will rebalance the scales, we will deliver justice & we will restore #Palestine & rid the world if the evil #settlercolony
Have faith sisters & brothers, we will restore palestine, ✊
@simon_brooke They're also not going to stop at this, because that water front is the profitable land for tourism and real estate
@simon_brooke The so-called "Yellow Line" made a mockery of any suggestion that the American-backed regime in Israel was backing out of its occupation of Gaza for the sake of Peace. The Israeli troops have no right to be there and the continued occupation is illegal. But the world looks away.

@DjityDjity It becomes harder and harder to see how any just and equitable peace can be negotiated between #Israel and #Palestine

Israel exists on Palestinian territory, mostly, but not entirely, stolen. If #Israelis refuse to live peacefully, respecting the rights and dignity of their hosts, then it is very hard for me to see any moral justification in supporting them to continue to live their at all.

@simon_brooke @DjityDjity it was clear from the day colonies was kept being built just during and shortly after oslo.
@simon_brooke Gaza's sterilization is a technical design. Project Nimbus bonds Google and Amazon to the Israeli Ministry for cloud-based target ID. It is a lethal US-backed supply chain. With European ministries like Italy’s also using Nimbus-linked clouds, the EU is complicit in the architecture of this systematic destruction.
@2k115 I fear also that the sterilisation of #Gaza is being seen by at least some of the #Techbros as a prototype for how to deal with the surplus 99% of the human population which will not be 'needed' (by them) once the #AI revolution is completed.

@simon_brooke @2k115

in other times I would have said that this sounds like a science fiction story. Not today.

@simon_brooke

no one can claim this is not deliberate. We know about the Israeli policy to restrict calories entering into Gaza since before 2020 - that was calculated, just as the Nazis calculated the ratios of calories and work before death in their camps.

It seems like the historical victims have been studying closely the actions of their former masters.

@simon_brooke

Ethnic cleansing, genocide in Gaza by Israel.

Crimes against humanity by many Israelis.

Many so-called "western democracies" deeply complicit alongside many major tech companies.

How can anyone buy into this brutal and corrupt system?

#Gaza #Genocide #EuropeanCommission #USA #TreatingPeopleAsThings

@skua @simon_brooke the bigger question is “how do we stop it?”

@NineStonesClose @simon_brooke

I do not know.

Acknowledging that "we", as we've been and currently are, have not been able to stop it could be useful as it suggests "we" need to be different, perhaps more & with wider and deeper reach into places and groups where decisions are made about how to respond in the short to medium term to genocide, whether to enable it or whether to stand against it.

Understanding also that "we" are already many, widely spread and diverse might be part of it too.

@skua @NineStonesClose The people who can put pressure on #Israel are

1. Western governments; and
2. The Jewish community

We can all write to our MPs, but unless a very large number of people do this it won't have a huge effect, so we must all also try to persuade others to also write -- or lobby.

Those of us who are Jewish (I am not) can probably work more effectively within their own community, persuading Jewish organisations to publicly condemn the #GazaGenocide.

@simon_brooke @skua I think the western governments are complicit and appealing to them will be a waste of time. Protesters are finding themselves wrongly branded as antisemitic as a way of silencing them. People have lost their entire careers over misuse of that slur. Agreed on the Jewish communities though, their stance is critical
To how this will go. I am just sickened by the whole situation.
@skua @simon_brooke agreed, hence my comment. We need to stand up stronger against this somehow.

@simon_brooke
Something that has not happened, even with all the power settlers have on the Israeli government, is any sort of settlement in the Gaza Strip. It seems that this is pressure from the US government that is actually working.

Under the right conditions, Israel will pull out of the Strip. One major condition is a reliable roadmap for ending the rule of Hamas in the Strip.

@tzafrir the reliable road map for ending #Hamas rule in #Gaza is the establishment of reliable, durable peace. No one would support a gangster regime if it were not the only thing protecting them from a ruthless, barbarous and untrustworthy enemy.

What's the roadmap for getting #Likud and the settler parties out of #Israel?

@simon_brooke
Right. But how do we get there if both Hamas and the Israeli government prefer the status quo?

There are elections on September of October this year. Hopefully we'll have a new government by the end of the year.

It's still not clear what would be the agenda of that government regarding the Palestinian issue: most of its parties ignore that issue in their platform. I hope, though, that it will be a more pragmatic government that will not be able to ignore the issue.

@tzafrir @simon_brooke Hamas and the Netanyahu coalition have both got to go.
@DEWLine @tzafrir @simon_brooke If you remove the word "both" that sentence still works. Down with the Hamas and Netanyahu coalition.

@cford @tzafrir @simon_brooke I take that under strongest advisement.

Israel and Palestine alike deserve better than this.

@tzafrir well, they obviously do. The continued conflict is how both stay in power. And for Netanyahu, it's how he stays out of prison.
@tzafrir @simon_brooke it just that gaza is so small and less important than the west bank. 7 of october gave an excuse for israel to get it faster

@tzafrir @simon_brooke

No. Israel has got to go. There is no reason for a white ethno-state to exist in Palestine. That original sin is the cause of all this bloodshed. Don’t blame the victims.

#FromTheRiverToTheSea

@simon_brooke They want to displace us and drive us to a point of despair in life, but your support and presence by our side are their greatest challenge. ❤🇵🇸
@simon_brooke it is a sign that israel want to resettle Gaza
