Yes and no. For High Fantasy ( #SoulBearerLegacy) and Science Fiction ( #Unmodeled), sure.

For contemporary literature, I either write about places, I know (Hamburg, Germany ( #ExGayHusband) and Anchorage, Alaska ( #SubconsciousMind))

or non-existing places that resemble a mix of multiple different existing places. These stories then are roughly set in Germany or the U.S. I mean, I know many places in Germany, have been to the U.S. for half a year and watch TV shows and movies from different countries. The later might not make it accurate, but the alternative would be extensive research which would be too overengineered for my novellas.
