I'd say, the answer lies somewhere in the middle.

There might be readers who enjoy reading the same story over and over again with the characters' and places' names changed, but of course, there are others who need a little more originality and uncertainty on the ride.

TL;DR No.

If I imagine myself *having to* write, having a deadline, having it stress me out, potentially having a publisher pick my story apart, because it doesn't fit what they want to sell, having to make sure, I can afford rent and food, no, that's probably not what I would want. And I can't work on command.

Depends on your definition of "antagonist". If you think of a personified villain, I have to disappoint you.

I tend to rather write inner struggles as the protagonist's demons.

In the current WIP, you could argue, some characters and things *represent* part of the antagonism: Technology, society, greed, etc.

Well, like with character names, I probably make it waaaaay to complicated 😅

Here's the thing: I don't like too on the nose titles or whole sentences as titles. I usually do one of two things: It's either some sort of wordplay or it is a very brief (sometimes even just one word) title with a deep meaning

Furthermore, the title doesn't always describe the story as a whole but is a bit outside the box

In terms of length? Well, if you'd asked me, my TL;DR would be "book"/"stories", wagging tongues would say "short stories", but actually it's novellas 😅 Btw, I'm bad at short stories, so my usual stories can't be short stories 😉

In terms of tense? Plain ol' past tense. Nothing fancy.

In the past, I used separators within chapters but I don't do that anymore.
