Hans on the Bike

City of #Ottawa removes protective traffic islands in protected bike lane after drivers complain they had to wait. Before and after. I am not sure what difference it makes but it may have had to do with car traffic not being able to turn fast enough and creating back ups on Main St. So cyclists are thrown under the bus.

@Hansonthebike Cars should slow down when turning in urban, residential, multiuser, high traffic areas. The infrastructure must force drivers to slow down because we don't do it on our own. Ffs Ottawa

Note: am a cyclist (who drives too) and rides in traffic but understand cyclists who do not or cannot. So the above was said with a large lump of sarcasm.
