🚨 BREAKING!

🟒 Yes: 72
πŸ”΄ No: 55

Scotland must have the right to choose our own future.

@ScottishGreens Let's fucking go! (I am not Scottish, I just support Scottish independence. I'm actually from England.)
@ScottishGreens Can we redefine the England/Scotland border to just south of me? PLEASE!
@UkeleleEric @ScottishGreens I'll second this but with a request to extend a little bit further. Frankly just take everything bar London and the home counties
@ScottishGreens Scexit when?

@disorderlyf @ScottishGreens (semi-off topic)
(preface to say that I'm all for Scots determining what to do with their own collective future; and I'm strongly of the opinion that Brexit is the pile of hot garbage that everyone said it was going to be)

"Scexit" sounds like the kind of sex act you would need a room full of easily cleanable surfaces for.

@Gorfram @ScottishGreens I use an absurd term because the fact that things with UK politics has gotten to the point where Scotland, Northern Ireland, maybe even Wales, are probably better off leaving the UK is primarily due to absurdity coming out of Westminster
@disorderlyf @ScottishGreens
Sorry. Should have made much clearer that I think "Scexit" is a delightfully absurd & and very scexy word. 😜
@disorderlyf @Gorfram @ScottishGreens
Would the Divided Kingdom then join the EU? And London would essentially be a tax haven?

@martin_ueding @Gorfram @ScottishGreens I mean, from what I've heard about Ireland, you can be a tax haven and be part of the EU, so I'm not sure why London is guaranteed to be one in this scenario..

I suspect they may want to do so themselves, but I don't want to speak for a people I am not part of for what to do post-split. Rather, with any matter of sovereignty, I defer to what the people who actually live there want unless it's an objectively harmful thing like a country that doesn't even comprise an entire island acting more and more isolationist without actually adapting their industrial output to be self-sufficient.

@ScottishGreens

127% turnout. That must be a record for a poll πŸ™„πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

@simonzerafa @ScottishGreens They didn't say it was a poll and not that it's %.

But 127 is quite close to the number of members in the Scottish Parliament (129)

The Scottish Parliament

The Scottish Parliament examines what the Scottish Government is doing, makes new laws on devolved matters and debates the issues of the day.

@simonzerafa
Isn't this the number of seats in the Scottish Parliament? ie an SMP vote
@ScottishGreens

@Natasha_Jay @ScottishGreens

I hope so or someone's arithmetic is a bit off somewhere πŸ₯΄

@simonzerafa @Natasha_Jay @ScottishGreens Yes, that looks to be a vote in Holyrood which has 129 seats
@ScottishGreens
Well, good luck neighbours with however it goes.
The previous time, independence as an EU country looked very sensible.
But the Tories and Brexists fucked that up.
@ScottishGreens
If Westminster refuse you declare UDI
@chuff @ScottishGreens
Universal Declaration of Independence . It's what Rhodesia did decades ago now known as Zimbabwe
@ScottishGreens I sincerely wish for your success. A victory for greater democracy anywhere will bring hope to people everywhere.

@ScottishGreens

Get away from England
and save Scotland and its citizens future.
