Socks in sandals
@quixoticgeek Shoes. My floors aren't great, and usually I have a few dogs which make socks or barefoot very...fuzzy. Shoes are vastly easier, and I don't have to take the time to remove and add footwear every time I need to go out to the detached garage or to check the mail.
If I've got a day where I'm staying inside all day (inclement weather, I'm sick, whatever) I'll opt for slippers, but they have soles on them. The fluffy slippers are a bad idea for the aforementioned reasons.
Sheepskin boots, aka Ugg knockoffs
@quixoticgeek
I hated them before. But since a friend convinced me to try them: Crooks.
I don't consider them proper clogs ๐
@quixoticgeek
In? Nothing.* On? Always shoes, because I need orthotics or every joint in the lower half of my body screams in pain.
*sorry, no one else had yet, so I had to. Autocorrect is such a pain! ๐คญ
@quixoticgeek I have voted, and it shows my selection, but it's claiming only one person has voted, and is showing 100% for something other than my choice.
That's ... odd.
@quixoticgeek Socks by default, we have painted concrete floors downstairs that are cold and hard and the wood floors upstairs are less cold but also hard so i like a bit of padding. I'm pretty much never barefoot unless I'm sleeping or showering.
I own a pair of slippers i almost never use, they get too warm.
Outside shoes in the house is generally a no-no to avoid tracking in dirt, unless we're like making multiple trips to bring in groceries or something in which case we try nor to stray too far from the entryway until we get them off.
I have a dedicated pair of ESD safe safety-toe slip on lab shoes for my home lab that i wear when I'm moving heavy stuff around, working with chemicals, or doing other things that pose a risk of foot injury. These never leave the house to keep them clean.
Light, cheap dollar-store sandals. $4.
I thought they'd last a winter, but now at 5 years of daily use.
@quixoticgeek I'm barefoot anywhere I possibly can be.
It's under 40 fahrenheit before I voluntarily put on footwear.
