Yesterday, I wrote for probably eight hours and happily typed two words I'm fond of: THE END. The only thing is, the middle has an entire sequence yet to be written. Sometimes I can't wait to write the ending of my novel. It's exciting, so I do it before writing the interior. Does anybody else do that? I'm 80% there. @sophiajanehayden_author I can understand doing that. I always write chronologically because I just find the story falls into shape best that way, but the beginning is usually kind of a dummy that I go back and replace when I've finished the draft and have figured out how the story is supposed to begin. Do you end up changing your endings after you've done the middle?
@paranoiapen That's a good question. I've only been writing for a few years. There's no strategy to my writing. I wake up sometimes with an idea that belongs in the book I'm writing, and sometimes I just do that. As with the book I'm working on now, there are two holes in the middle that need to be filled. I know what the ending is, so I just need to write those two holes.
