Il 23enne spagnolo ha annunciato che il problema al polso che lo tiene ai box da Barcellona non è ancora risolto del tutto e dunque non potrà prendere parte nè al torneo del Queen's, dove era chiamato a difendere il titolo, nè soprattutto a Wimbledon, appuntamento che nel 2025 lo vide arrendersi solo in finale a Jannik Sinner. “La mia guarigione sta procedendo bene e mi sento molto meglio, ma purtroppo non sono ancora pronto per poter giocare e per questo devo rinunciare alla stagione sull'erba al Queen's e a Wimbledon – scrive Alcaraz su X – Sono due tornei davvero speciali per me e mi mancheranno tantissimo. Continuiamo a lavorare per tornare il prima possibile”.Infortunatosi al polso destro a metà aprile a Barcellona, l'attuale numero 2 del mondo ha dovuto saltare Madrid e Roma e non prenderà parte nemmeno al Roland Garros dove era campione in carica. La doppia rinuncia londinese gli costerà altri 1800 punti nel ranking Atp, con Jannik Sinner che avrà così la chance di aumentare il gap.
