don't think of the statue as ugly.

don't even think of it as a statue, actually. think of it as the object that emerges when a team of israeli psychologists who've been studying trump's behavior for 10 years work with a small Tel Aviv design firm that for some reason has perfect 3d models of every room in every Trump property in VR format to create an object that will be so seductive to trump he will say yes to pretty much anything.

if you've seen or read Dune think of this statue as "the voice" used by the bene gesserit to temporarily control people. if you haven't seen dune think of it as a mind control device aimed directly at trump's head.

in 2016 foreign leaders didn't know how to deal with trump and he got away with a lot of shit. now it's 2026 and every prime minister, president, queen, or sheikh worth their salt has a team of psychologists studying trump full time and devising communications strategies for getting him to give them stuff they want, like starting war with iran.

unhappy families may each be unhappy in their own way but all malignant narcissists are terrible people in pretty much the same way. this uniformity makes them very easy to manipulate because if you've seen one you've kinda seen em all. they can all be easily worked in the same way - hypnotized by flattery, driven to rage by insult, or distracted by discussions of their favourite topic (themselves).

normal human beings look at the trump statue and cannot imagine that there might be other human beings walking the earth right now who think golden calf worship is not only fine but maybe even kind of awesome. but trump is not a normal person, he's a malignant narcissist. his mind is a broken machine and everyone but him knows where its buttons are.

i'm not saying the golden statue will be able to control trump's mind - mind control devices don't have a great track record.

but even if the statue doesn't work on him it's kind of crazy that israel is willing to make the attempt just right out in the open. either they don't care about blowing their cover any more because it doesn't matter or they're truly desperate.
