Visibility still feels like the weak spot on PeerTube, so I built PeerSeek, my own search index, live at https://peerseek.video

Results are ranked how I think they should be and there is still a lot of work to be done. Please try it out and give me some feedback, or let me know if it's useful in any way.

@polykit thanks for that initiative 👍

colours are horrible on Firefox/Linux though, blue text on blueish background is a pain for the eyes 😵‍💫

where/how can additional Peertube servers be submitted to that index?

@tobozo I wonder why that is, I also use Firefox on Linux, see screenshot, I'll look into it. I use the instances index from Peertube at https://instances.joinpeertube.org/instances
@polykit haha did you just fix the issue?
@tobozo yeah, I changed something. Did it work?

@polykit yup looks fixed, much better, thanks 👍

I've added a peertube server to joinpeertube, let's see how much time it needs to propagate 👀

BTW the server video.ploud.fr was already in the peertube index, but for some reason the videos from this channel don't come up when searched by keyword or username:

Le Hangar de Virtualabs

Pour le moment, cette chaîne propose les enregistrements des streams Twitch de Virtualabs, diffusés sur https://twitch.tv/virtualabs (en attendant de streamer sur Peertube, un jour).

Ploud Video France

@polykit raw ideas:

- Use <datalist> instead of <select> for search filters (anything with more than 10 items), eventually allow multiple selection
- "Add instance" header button with link to the corresponding joinpeertube page
