Time to get out and about again, and today's destination is Wuppertal. The route goes from Bremen to Osnabrück, Essen, Wuppertal. The first problems are already cleared out of the way, where a quicker journey with more transfers is no longer available.
Here's hoping it goes well. The first coffee has been bought, a seat secured, and we're just waiting for the off.
We've picked up a three minute delay - before arriving at the first stop on our route - which will hopefully disappear. Plenty of changeover time, though.
And a route long enough to settle into reading "Witches, Bitches, It-Girls" from Rebekka Endler.

Driving between rapeseed and asparagus fields. Overcast weather, but not too cold. Perfect for exploring the Schwebebahn system in Wuppertal and, maybe, getting a few photographs in the process.
First change, now onto the RE to Düsseldorf where it is already forecast, long before we depart, that there will be delays. Next changeover in Essen with half an hour, so I'm not too worried.
The rain continues.
Haltern am See, and we're at a comfortable five minutes delay, with the weather definitely not improving.
Still, you take a chance; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Perhaps it's not such a good thing that I'll get there earlier. It will be another hour or so until the weather clears, according to various online sources.
And as to the old man checking his watch: I may well be old, but I don't own a watch. It wasn't me....
