So, after the Mono March excellence, back to the first film I finished this year. These photos were actually taken shortly before Christmas 2025, during one of our periodic floods, when the "ford was up". This is quite often entertainment for locals when vehicles get stuck. Flood starting, and a day or so later.

Steps up to the castle. Built on a mound, attackers who broke through the outer defences would have had to run up this steep slope before facing the inner walls.

Windows in the keep. This 900 year old building has 12 foot thick walls: the reason you can see through these windows is that the far wall was demolished ("slighted") by Parliament after the 17th century Civil War., so that it could no longer be used as a stronghold. #FensterFreitag #WindowFriday
