#Please, if you publish stickers, leaflets, slides, whatever:

Do not only show a #QRcode, when you like to point people to a URL!

Not everyone has a #smartphone or similar device to decode it.

Print the URL, too!

Only last week, I've been at an event. At the end of the talk, they asked for feedback, but the link to the feedback site was only shown as QR code.

Take my post as feedback 🙂

"No posts yet"?

@debacle date is sth from 2012 ;)
@debacle just in case that isn’t clear, that’s the joke. Or was the joke. That no one scans QR codes. Thus there are no traces of that.

@zeank @debacle

Except those using Conversations/Monal to create (or accept) Invites, exchange contacts 😍 With purpose.

Some of my migrated users from matrix are excited how it works. Including me 😜

Otherwise, scanning QRs just to visit some URL is also pointless for me.

@zeank

I was *really* unsure, if it was a joke!

@debacle PSA: For those wondering: the displayed QR code encodes the text that can be seen in the ALT text of the image of the QR code. It does not contain a URL. :)

@debacle And one more thing: Make sure the URL displayed matches the one in the QR code!

Every time I walk into a German train station, I see QR codes for the schedule information that deliver a different URL than the one printed on them. (They ultimately lead to the same page, but it’s still a bit odd.)
