1990: i bet they will have flying cars in the future

2026: the world is ending but i can use a game console to charge my toothbrush
@snow at least unfathomably rich people can buy robots that don't work now...
@snow you really live the øl telecom spirit lately
@snow 2026 is a year of Linux on vanity top
@snow alt text: electrical toothbrush docked in a bathroom, the dock is connected to a steam deck which is showing the plasma desktop
@snow Ewww! I never take any electronic device or books inside my bathroom.

@snow LOL

#Alt4you an electric toothbrush connected to a SteamDeck via a USB-C cable.

@snow

I'm sure every reader knows this anyway, but let it be said: the non-proliferation of flying cars isn't a technical challenge, but a societal one. We can't seem to stop cars from hitting even clearly marked, and well-lighted store windows in cities where speeds are limited to low tens of km/h: do we really want them falling through roofs with hundreds of km/h in the speedometer as well?

(This reminder was brought to you by the militant cyclist gang.)

@snow The world has been "ending" since 2012 at the latest - it's like Ozzy's touring schedule.
@snow I mean, the fact that your game console is a full-fledged computer is at least an accomplishment
