I'm sure every reader knows this anyway, but let it be said: the non-proliferation of flying cars isn't a technical challenge, but a societal one. We can't seem to stop cars from hitting even clearly marked, and well-lighted store windows in cities where speeds are limited to low tens of km/h: do we really want them falling through roofs with hundreds of km/h in the speedometer as well?
