Wow. This headline grabbed me. Frankly, I didn’t think it would happen before the end of this decade. And that was me being optimistic. The ‘headline?

This one:

A wave of low-cost electric trucks is heading for Australia

Diesel trucks are the backbone of the national supply chain, but figures buried in recent sales data could mark the beginning of the end for these kings of the road.

Great news, I hope there’s lots more of it.
@RaymondPierreL3
Excellent news - thanks for sharing 🙏🏻
Now maybe the charging network/s can get a wriggle on & develop in a fair way. 😊
@Su_G
Yes. Especially in regional areas of travel between States. There is also a need for better technology (Battery and chargers). Hopefully, sometime soon…
@RaymondPierreL3 One of the difficulties is that a lot of transport is done by roadtrain, which are far heavier than what other countries are designing for. A local company has a converted Volvo with swappable batteries they're testing, but they're still having teething issues.
@RaymondPierreL3 In Luxembourg, which is a small country, we have had electric Buses for the last few years, slowly replacing the diesel ones. Now more and more trucks and cars follow. I love what you are doing!
@connynasch
Yes, this is great. This is also happening in Asutralia but mainly in the big cities. Regional Australia still relies on Diesel buses for long distance travelling.

@RaymondPierreL3

The great news is, this is happening when diesel is at it's peak, technologically, while electric development is just getting started.

@RaymondPierreL3
Price parity is very exciting!
Now we're opening up to Chinese EVs (I'm in Canada), maybe we can catch up too.
