Ruby Tails > FWA@eniko I see where you're coming from here, but the actual literal justification given by the Biden admim circa 2022 was that the lockdown was harming the economy too much. That's why they justified lifting said lockdown despite covid still being widespread, and likely why a number of other nations are following suit.
Now, as for the current administration? It could be malicious, but it's pretty evident that RFK Jr is an anti-vaxxer and otherwise a fucking moron when it comes to being the Secretary of Health.

Patrick@sinvega @eniko I don't think the conspiracy goes that deep. I think, more like it, some very smart and very evil people ran the numbers, and decided it was better for the business class to continue par for the course than do any real protections.
Not even long-term, just short-term like all of our suicidal economic policy is.
Nazo@eniko Honestly I think it's as simple as capitalism. When people were staying home more and going out less, buying less, etc etc, a lot of profit margins were going down and it was getting harder for the rich to ... be slightly richer... (They would have been fine, but god forbid they buy one less yacht in 2020.) You'll notice they push us to pretend things are normal. They started all this before they knew what COVID-19 is doing to everyone.
That said, I bet they see it as a bonus.
