good news everybody

i didn't space han, chewie, lando, qi'ra, or l3

a former sith who doesn't die in redemption? wild

wait these people nearly trapped palpatine and vader years before yavin but some dipshit knights betrayed them?

lmaoooooooo comics are wild

ten paragraphs of setting description

two paragraphs of dialogue before the shooting starts

the solo play way

star wars: promise sex, do not give sex

homebrew: do not promise sex, probably give sex anyway

playing through the first installment of the dawn of defiance campaign for sw saga and it's pretty alright so far

weird droids, lots of outpost investigation, splattering of firefights

chasing imperial scouts through the woods on kybucks

also for once in my life managing to keep my pc squad size down to just 4! xD
"ootini"
- me, for any alien i don't know what they sound like
star wars d20/saga is great if you love your feats and other character build options scattered everywhere
so did they intend for armor to suck or
small vibro was my nickname in high school

not dying because you want your characters to live

not dying because you don't want to roll a new character

it's weird that sw d20 (revised) is pretty dnd 3.5 gritty and allows you to play all sorts of characters, but they still leave out a lot of little stuff like RATIONS because they insist it's still a heroic game... even as the sith xD
also i realized i wasn't actually playing saga i'm playing d20 revised, i was confused between editions

it's fine i'm in the old republic era so i gotta make up everything anyway

saga has a kotor soucebook but like all the d20/saga sourcebooks they're... limited

so apparently people really hate star wars d20? they say it doesn't feel star wars?

all i gotta say is... how is star wars not dnd in space

tbh traveller psionics doesn't fit force power use very well. it works it just doesn't really vibe well with "you fail to force push"

d6 is great and all if you wanna ignore anything that isn't roll some d6s

falls apart in space combat and anything non-light side heroic. also wookie strength op

and i just hate ffg dice so i'm biased there but obviously that's the most popular star wars rpg incarnation atm

you'd think the blinder i get the more i'd appreciate online dice rollers, but actually the way Everything is going i don't want to rely on online tools i want physical shit i actually own

that was old bums, 20-30 years old bums

he's dead now

some people call this dnd 3.0 and some call it 3.75, not 3.5, so this means i dodged both 3.5 and 4, evidently to annoy @RethinkJeff specifically xD
also, 3d8 points of energy damage is a lot
making ffg characters and i can hear @DarkestKale laughing at me
at least we can compare wookie notes if this works out
i like starting obligations. very cyberpunk. not wild that it's assumed you start with a ship tho
surprisingly few base classes huh
this bounty hunter specialization lets me... add a class skill i already have
i guess i can opt to get another rank in the skill if i double up?
alright let's go ruin my eyeballs on some dice
roleplay: my method of avoiding rolling anything in sw ffg
my friend is mad at me that i stopped all my rpg campaigns for them but then played like 3 different star wars rpgs by myself lololol
i know i'm traveller scum but there should be more dice rolling in the sw ffg chargen process
i just wanna say that if you find yourself needing to say shit like this you might wanna rethink your system

this dice system would work better in a low fantasy meatgrinder game where your pcs are actually casting bone dice and fondling entrails to receive a sign from the gods

that's what it feels like

i can just see this in a session: a critical roll occurs

all the players lean forward. they stare at the dice. in unison they all look up to stare at the referee

the ref starts to sweat

blessed are the min-maxers

it's good that my pc with 5 agility has used literally zero agility based skills so far

well done my guy

the zeltron is fulfilling the role my satyr plays in my homebrew: sex first, questions maybe later

also no one's died yet which is great

it's not as hard to roll up characters in the ffg version compared to d20 for sure tho

granted, ffg skews hard toward narrative non-death so pretty hard to die unless everyone agrees It Be Death

that said i'm doing scum and villainy shit, so

like the critical injury table is super generous. you need i think at least 4 critical injuries before you can even have the possibility of rolling death

actually 5 critical injuries lol

death starts at 141 and up

also it's funny that "knocked senseless" is sandwiched between horrific, gruesome injuries and literal death

i would rather get knocked out thanks xD

ur face blind boy figured it out

jyn erso kinda looks like aragorn at some angles lol

me: "actually it's hard to die in sw ffg even tho this is a scum & villainy campaign"

also me, a few hours later: *fighting on the beaches of scarif*

i swear to god if the wookie dies first again
fuck you and your nil result lol
hey falling damage sucks in sw ffg lol
when the wookie dies first yet again

it was my fault. i shoulda given them xp and upgrades before this xD

ah well

it's so weird* how the guy in actual armor took the least damage!

(*not weird at all)

alright actually going to award xp and use it now xD

i tried to save cassian but he fell like in the movie and sw ffg fall damage don't play around

it was fated

they recommend upwards of 30-something xp per session? wild
they don't do a very good job explaining how to use/price bacta huh
like they will tell you everything except the information you need to cost out healing treatments... the literal thing bacta and bacta tanks are for

these guys literally tell me cost for a liter of bacta, cost for a tank, time to heal a wound, but nothing about how much bacta is required

so these numbers are completely disconnected

it's like telling you how big a car's fuel tank is, the price of fuel, and not knowing the mileage

*mpg

whatever

fucking book!

i tried to calculate the liters of bacta in the tank from empire strikes back and let's not go that route lolololol
love that scene in a new hope where luke nods in acknowledgement to a comm order like red leader could see him

@worthlessbums yeah, Genesys fall damage will FUUUUCK YOU

Coincidentally, my rpg group's nickname is 'Team Fall Down'.

Unrelated, for sure.

@DarkestKale i took one look at that table and was like "no kill like overkill"
@worthlessbums how the fuck did you lose a wookie?
@DarkestKale battalions of stormtroopers on scarif
@worthlessbums they died to a minion group?
@DarkestKale no it was basically a squad of rivals
@worthlessbums How many crits? Our record is some shit like 10
@DarkestKale not that many, i think maybe 8 or so? he was getting fucked up left and right

@worthlessbums Yeah, alright. 8's pretty bad. At that point you prob. have the 'can't make any actions' or 'can't make any maneuvers' type stuff.

We had one campaign where three of us got the amputation crit in like, session 1 or 2, it FUCKED us up bad

@DarkestKale ffg does quite have the stunlock brutality of d20 but it can be quite bad on that injury table yeah

@worthlessbums The main thing that absolutely FUCKS is the Vicious quality, because that's +10 on the table per rank.

So that's ike throwing extra crits on the 'how many crits?' question

@DarkestKale vibroknives: surprisingly effective

@DarkestKale wookies aren't nearly as strong in sw ffg as they are in weg d6 lol

also, feel the need to point out i never gave out xp/upgraded after chargen before i did this

@worthlessbums lol, so they were fresh chars.
@DarkestKale yeah. they had looted some basic upgrades like blaster carbines but that was mostly it
@worthlessbums lol, stop being so stingy with XP Bums :D
@DarkestKale i retroactively gave 20xp per each of the two sessions!

@worthlessbums lol, we do 5xp per ~2hr session.

I've talked to people who do 30xp, but they also insisted their characters with 1,500xp weren't broken to shit

@DarkestKale i figure 3 sessions to do some jabba shit, discover and transmit the death star plans at scarif, then actually blow up the death star is worth 40 xp

also the core edge of the empire book advises upwards of 30+xp per character per session 🙃 lol

@DarkestKale @worthlessbums went to the hairdresser, when they were finished, there was nothing left
