i shoulda just ran mass effect in traveller a long time ago

everyone else in my family: *metabolisms dropped off a cliff in their late 20s/early 30s*

like i rolled 4 characters and they have almost exactly the same breadth of skills (almost every skill) the only difference being specializations and the ranks (0+)

also there are multiple pre-career procedures but they're all badly thought out

basically worse than just getting into your chosen career term 1 (again, partly because of easy requirement checks)

the main culprit is since this is "beta" (read: completely not tested) they just set all career survival/adv tests to 6+, and then they also changed the way aging works

basically before the normal trav aging rules you get 2 table rolls per term (non-personal development), which drops to 1 table roll once you start aging

so making the first 3 terms (extremely likely) means you get 6 skill table tolls minimum (sans events, etc)

if nothing else this third party star wars conversion for trav 2e is worse than the 1e version because the changed lifepath system gives starting characters too many skills
