42 years ago today, April 7, 1984, Charly McClain debuted at #77 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart with “Band of Gold”. It went on to peak at #22 and spent a total of 15 weeks on the chart.

It’s been my hobby to collect 45 RPM singles. I enjoyed listening to this song on the radio and went to my favorite record store to buy and added it to my treasured music collection 4+ decades ago.
