Had a terrific bike camping trip with my sweet dog Guinevere this past weekend. We did about 40 miles from Oakland to Point Pinole Regional Park and back. Only used about 30% of the battery on the e-cargo bike. Made me more confident that we can do more trips in the future. She prefers it to riding in a car due to motion sickness which makes me happy. I'm not a fan of cars either so this is a double win.

@clhenrick That’s so cool. How did you train her to ride in the cargo bike? So far we’ve only been able to tempt our Golden Retriever into our bike when it’s standing still. Any hint of movement and she wants to get out. She loved riding in a bike trailer when she was a puppy, though, so I’m hopeful we can persuade her.

@mattpedals honestly I think I just got lucky. The first time I test road a cargo bike with her she jumped right in, sat down, and enjoyed the ride. At times she does want to get out and I have a leash to her harness that I'll hold firmly with one hand to put some tension on it so she knows she can't jump out until I pull over. The leash is also wrapped around the bike so if she jumps out she can't get far. She's also very food motivated so treats help.
