This fucks anyone with a disability and cannot hold a licence. It's too hot and hilly in my area to use a regular push bike and we have ZERO public transport so I am now completely housebound for the for foreseeable future. I genuinely don't know how I'm going to live.

@liachra FWIW, and not to support this law at all, but for folks who need a solution while this law is in effect, I believe it doesn't apply to trikes (the intent of the law seems to be fixated on balance). While they're expensive (check if it counts as a support if you can get NDIS), there are good upright tadpole e-trikes (2 front wheels, so you can see the widest part), with leaning suspension etc.

@metaning Bolt on a single training wheel too high for it ever to touch, then technically you'd have a trike.

@BalooUriza @liachra Yeah, but the speed rules still apply. At least a trike can safely drop to the speeds these regulations are stipulating, moreso for the fact the people these laws are hitting hard might be especially ill suited to slow balance cycling. The sort of folks who can't balance on their pedals at a stop light.
