I have an extensive collection of vinyls and their respective FLAC backups. I just noticed that my go-to music player (Melody, written by Artem Anufrij) is some 6 years old.
Learning Vala now, so that I can update it to Gtk4 and add a couple features I'm craving for.
My gosh, this is a daunting task.
I forked it, updated the libraries and broke the entire thing several times before having "something that runs". This will be a project for the next week at least.
12 hours of intensive work, a bit of tampering with my local LLM to automate repeated tasks, and my fork of Melody has finally started with no errors.
I decided to rename it because if a translation file hasn't been accepted to Melody 6 years ago, this complete rewrite to Gtk4 and Adwaita will never make it.
The new name? White Noise. It's not Melody, but it's soothing.
