Hey folks, a headhunter got a hold of me recently for a senior-level role at Hudson River Trading.

The position is for Security Operations-type stuff, and it appears to be a somewhat senior position.

Downside is that its hybrid, with at least two days a week in the office, and the office, from what I can tell is at 3 world trade center.

Their job openings have the salary range in the description, and from what I saw, one of the perks states that they cover your healthcare premium.

If you think you can fit the bill, go take a look:

Additionally, here is a direct link to the dude who directed me to the position:

Wasn't a good fit for me, as I'm not really in a position nor do I have any desire to move back to the east coast, but maybe it'll be a better fit for you instead. Best of luck.

Edit: I'm not affiliated with Hudson River Trading or Fourier.

The reason I included Aaron's information in the listing is that he is the one that's way more qualified to tell you more about the position, and not only that, he offered to help update/tailor my resume towards the role. We all know headhunters are motivated for their money, but it was interesting that this dude was willing to go so far to get the position filled.

So bottom line is, if you have more questions about the role, I would recommend reaching out to him, and saying that Tony sent you, so he at least knows who sent you 🤷

@da_667 I wonder if HRT covers HRT
@Dio9sys @da_667 Only if you're on the HRT.
@Dio9sys @da_667 Ignore me. Bad joke. Hostage Rescue Team is another common HRT.
@cR0w @Dio9sys actually looks like they do.
@da_667 @Dio9sys That's awesome.
@cR0w @Dio9sys yeah, I kinda have regrets because up to 250k plus healthcare premiums covered is REALLY fucking good, even if it is near NYC, but I'm in no mood to go back to the east coast. One tour out there was enough.
@da_667 @Dio9sys Yeah you couldn't pay me enough to move to NY.
@cR0w @Dio9sys or anywhere near it. I was in and around the Nova/DC/MD for about 10 years, and... It was enough for me. Way too many people, in way too small a space for me.
@cR0w @Dio9sys Met great people, went to great cons and hacker spaces, I miss them, but not enough to deal with beltway traffic or people ever again.
@cR0w @Dio9sys holy shit do I miss Wegmans though :(
@da_667 @Dio9sys The food in the cities is so good but at least where I am, the good stuff is spreading further out from downtown so that's nice.
@da_667 @Dio9sys Same. I like hanging out in Seattle and Portland but would have a hard time living in city, and they're nowhere near NYC in size.
@cR0w @da_667 @Dio9sys I think I'd enjoy NYC, but I'm 43 and have friends in Seattle. I can't imagine moving for work these days, that feels so old fashioned
@iagox86 @cR0w @Dio9sys I know. Oil is at an all-time high. Can we just like... Get WFH back?
@da_667 maybe at some point, but the same people that declare RTO mandates on a edit: total whim are still in charge. @iagox86 @cR0w @Dio9sys

@cR0w

I am perfectly happy to be a short train ride away from Boston, but I get the heeby jeebies any time I am in the DC metro area and see all those guys with lanyards speedwalking

@da_667 I work at Hudson River Trading (doing systems engineering) and am happy to answer questions if that helps anyone interested. The company is hiring for many other roles and has offices in NYC, Chicago, London, Dublin, Singapore, and a few other smaller US offices.

@tzz at the time I was enquiring if the security positions I was curious about were available in the other offices, but the dude I talked to indicated that it was just the NYC location hiring.

But I'll defer to you, since you actually work there, lol. Thanks for stepping up, and best of luck in finding your candidate.

@da_667 absolutely, I can ask around, anyone interested can DM me and I’ll do my best to help. I know how stressful it is to job hunt believe me.
@tzz cheers brother, and thanks again!
