Yikes
6.2 mile depth ( suck it, metric system ) and USGS says low likelihood of damage or casualties.

Based on earthquake information and historic tsunami records, the earthquake is not expected to generate a tsunami.

@cR0w aren’t you meant to state it as the number of stacked Godzillas or something?
@QuatermassTools Keeping it simple for the children.

@cR0w so, multiples of Barney.

And what is the US <-> UK conversion figure from Barneys to Teletubbies ?

@QuatermassTools 8 Spongebobs == 4 Teletubbies == 2 Barneys == 1 Snuffleupagus
@cR0w oh fuck, that is MEGA fucking bad. Fucking fuck can this whole goddamn decade just chill for one fucking goddamn day?
@rootwyrm I don't have details on depth or anything, just got the alert and I'm hoping it's not as bad as it could be.

@cR0w @rootwyrm

what do you use for a feed?

@lbruno @rootwyrm That's the MyShake app. I like that you can set locations to monitor and it doesn't require you to have GPS on your phone.
@cR0w there is quite literally nowhere even remotely fucking good in that area if it's off the coast. The '04 tsunami was a 9.2 at 19 *miles* deep. 7.8 preliminary puts it well in tsunami range.
@cR0w Oooh
@ai6yr @cR0w hdds gonna get more expensive... Again
@kajer @cR0w Well, depends on how much damage.

@ai6yr @kajer @cR0w Wasn't the particular incident being brought up caused specifically by damage to those specific facilities? Or am I remembering wrong? Eg it may not happen again because of that.

Though, that said, HD prices are going up for a number of reasons already...
