@grendel84 you should see what small scale gold miners use for smelting. Basically a big gas jet, kaowool, and a shop vac.

It was fun to get it glowing but I realized quickly that a cinder block does NOT make a good anvil 😅

@grendel84 hehehe, no it wouldn't. And anvils are not cheap, even if it's just a block of softish steel

I may go out to the old family farm and search for some old steel thing I could use as a makeshift anvil.
