On a journey to discover the *real* Jesus of the Bible, not the twisted evangellical prop.

Turns out living paycheck to paycheck is better than working in corpo tech.

I'm loving the home school stay-at-home parent life

Luxuries be damned, I'll never regret trading my windowless office for being with my kids everyday.

I am really starting to get pissed off.

I sent a records request to local PD concerning flock cameras.

They haven't even acknowledged my request, which is a violation of state law!

I will NOT be put off. I will go to local news, city meetings, start protests, whatever it takes.

They will regret ignoring me.

I'm not the best at home repairs. But I sure as hell can't afford a plumber (barely the parts).

So I did my best. It didn't help that it was done wrong originally. No shut off valves and missing slip joints 🤬!

It took 4 days and a blood sacrifice for what likely would have been 2 hours for others but I'm relieved it's done.

Before and after of the pipes, and the new faucet.

(also I DESPISE copper pipes)

I think for a while "hallucinating furby" is going to be my fav derogatory LLM name.
Everytime an LLM generates "code" the ghost of Dijkstra weeps.

I had one of those ideas that's either clever or stupid.

In order to make a pile of soil that's full of weed/grass roots usable I dumped the dirt in a bucket of water and mixed it well, then strained it into another bucket using hardware cloth to filter out all of the weeds.

Then I poured the water into an old collapsible tub hoping that as the water evaporates good soil will be left behind.

Turns out with a 30$ charcoal grill and an air mattress pump can heat steel to forging temps

Had instant ramen tonight after having had fresh noodles previously.

Now the kids are insisting the noodles are bland and they don't like them.

Sorry kids, inflation and tariffs suck.

When I was a teenager in the '90s, my boyfriend at the time gave me his old skateboard.

The trucks and wheels were fine, but the deck was heavily used and the design had been scraped off most of the bottom, so I took some paint markers and decorated it by painting a black and white checkerboard background with a large stormtrooper head in the foreground because Star Wars and ska were two of my favorite things at the time.

I was mostly just a poser and barely rode it and it remained in the back of my car for several years until I was at a sporting goods store and saw a kid doing tricks on a demo deck and I told him he was really good and he said "Thanks! I have to practice here because I don’t have a skateboard."

At that moment, I remembered my backseat skateboard and told him he could have it, but warned him that the "graphic" was kind of nerdy so he was more than welcome to draw/paint over it.

I went out to my car and grabbed the skateboard and brought it to the front of the store where the kid was waiting and he flipped it over and said "Whoa! Star Wars and ska?!? These are two of my favorite things!"

I’m so glad that skateboard finally found the right owner.
