Sigh. In #iOS26 and #iPadOS26 26.4, the entire album UI in Music takes the colours from the cover art. Damn it, Apple, I want my user interface to look consistent, and I use light mode for a reason!

Turning on Increase Contrast accessibility option fixes that, but there’s still a blurred stripe of the background colour behind the playback controls bar. Also turning on Reduce Transparency replaces that with a solid bar. But both of these options bring other issues with them. We need a setting telling the apps to always obey the system light/dark theme and never override the colours. But of course there are still some exceptions even to that…

@slothdude you might want to give a third-party music player a try?

I’ve been quite happy with Marvis Pro and how customizable it is. And there are other apps out there too all built on top of Apple Music so it ‘just works’.
