Ohh wow that's interesting!
KDE plasma is currently building up a Vulkan renderer which at some point replaces the OpenGL renderer on vulkan compatible graphic cards.

Since I am using the latest AMD Framework (and plasma is by far the superior Desktop for Linux) this is amazing news!
