@mem_somerville Our national broadcaster published a piece this morning about rural people and how they can't not drive everywhere. I felt compelled to use their feedback page to point out that all but one of the towns they went to write this report had DC fast chargers in them already. And, of course, a farmer isn't going to have a lack of space for parking their vehicles to charge at home anyway.
On the other hand the current New Zealand government has spent the entire last 2.5 years working tirelessly to exacerbate this crisis so there's plenty of blame to go around.
I was wondering about reactions of auto makers who recently canceled electric vehicle plans…
@mem_somerville Wot you have to understand about vox pops is that they don't go out to find out what people have to say. They already know what they want to broadcast, so what they do is go looking for people who are going to say things that fit their agenda, and anyone who says the wrong thing won't be broadcast.
(I got round this once by not saying what the interviewer wanted but by saying something different that was sufficiently funny that they broadcast it anyway.)
@mem_somerville I was going to write a lot more about #electromobility when I switched years ago.
Turns out there isn't much to write about. It just works™
Never looked back and it's hard to show sympathy to anyone who went for yet another gas car within the last 10 years or so. I mean is this latest clusterfuck really surprising to anyone who doesn't walk the earth for their first day? 🫣
If they did show up and ask your opinion, they'd still run b-roll of Trump.
