Fuck scammers, but also fuck with scammers.

Got a rando nonfriend that messaged me on Steam about if I had just purchased a very expensive cosmetic item for the game Rust. He showed a screenshot of his marketplace sales history and everything! I do not play the game Rust, and immediately verified that I didn't have the transaction in my history.

It took a minute for the scam to develop, but our nonfriend MoneyTrees got to the hook quickly enough: For some reason now I "took" his item (that he listed for sale) so he reported me to Steam. And three hours ago, Steam Support responded with their plans for moderation: a 24-hour ban and full suspension! This is serious!

Obviously I've heard nothing, because Dorktrees means to have me log in somewhere else to jack my account. But I'm not that concerned about it; I won't be using Steam very soon.

I probably overplayed my hand, since I haven't heard from ScamyTrees since. Oh well.

Hey, did you enjoy Baldur's Gate 3? Do you want more of the same design philosophy with fresh characters and underlying systems? Good news! GOG has Larian's Divinity: Original Sin II Definitive Edition on sale for $11.25.

You don't need to have played any of the previous Divinity games, and I won't argue you should. They're very much... of their time, and much harder to enjoy these days. D:OS2 does a great job of building out its own world independent of the existing lore.

D:OS2 doesn't use the D&D5e system or the Forgotten Realms but don't worry, the system they use is very good.

This game was why they got to build BG3. But that doesn't mean it's just an audition; it's a wonderful story and game by its own merits.

Today I "accidentally" stage-whispered an unmuted "dag-nabbit" when 60+ people were on the daily review.

I don't curse at work because I'm a fucking professional.

Finished my taxes with a good two hours to spare. Fuck yeah I'm a responsible adult.

@alice In 2011, I spent two weeks painstakingly syncing the frames and audio for an English dub of a Polish DVD about Tibetan singing bowls. We didn’t have the original audio tracks, but we did have an English narrator and a few hours of singing bowl samples.

Let's play a game! The rules are simple: Tell me something about yourself.

1. It should be a fun or weird, *and* trivial.
2. It should be substantially different from recent answers.
3. We alternate turns.
4. Use #TellAlice so they're easy to find.

- Since we have N players, you can reply to anyone in the thread as your turn.
- You can respond to someone else's answer, but you have to take your own turn in the same reply.

I'll start.

The first time I went to a Japanese restaurant was with friends in highschool, and I ate the ball of wasabi thinking it was part of the sushi. It still comes up sometimes.

Why do I obsessively double-check my mute status?

I dunno, ask the mulit-tasking gal who just muttered "son of a bitch" in a daily review meeting with 75+ people.
