"They’ve constructed extraordinarily sophisticated machinery for the social management of work, without actually doing the work they’re socialising about."

This piece by @Daojoan on performative collaboration should be mandatory reading for anyone. There is also a strong connection to David Graeber's Bullshit Jobs I think.

"Collaboration" is bullshit.

This newsletter is free to read, and it’ll stay that way. But if you want more - extra posts each month, access to the community, and a direct line to ask me things - paid subscriptions are $2.50/month. A lot of people have told me it’s

Westenberg.

@koen_hufkens @Daojoan @NotTheLBCGuy hum. Dunno.
Definitely a lot of collaboration theatre getting in the way of getting things done.

That example of “soldier who don’t shoot” is really poor and show a poor understanding of the task. Like slagging a football team saying only a few shot at the goal.

@fabienmarry @Daojoan @NotTheLBCGuy I think the point there is that most people don't join the army to shoot people, but because they have to out of circumstance to get by. Most jobs are like that, too.
