It's tough to keep up on the flood of news, but don't lose sight of what Trump is doing to our economy and finances. Headlines from the last couple of days:

Trump promised his economic policies would erase the deficit. Instead, the national debt surpassed a record $39 trillion last week. It hit $38 trillion five months ago and $37 trillion two months before that.

US national debt surges past $39 trillion

The U.S. national debt has hit a record $39 trillion. The deficit hit the milestone Wednesday just weeks into the U.S.-Israeli war in Iran. The Government Accountability Office says rising debt can raise borrowing costs for mortgages and cars. It can also squeeze wages and push up prices. Budget advocates warn that growing interest payments force tougher tradeoffs. The federal debt has surged under both Republican and Democratic presidents, most recently fueled by wars, large-scale pandemic spending and tax cuts. The U.S. national debt hit $38 trillion five months ago — and $37 trillion two months before that.

The Heritage Foundation's chief economist, who is a Trump ally, warned, “The economy is weaker than we thought it was, and inflation is worse than we thought it was… I don’t think this is an economy that is going to be able to handle $100 a barrel for oil, it’s just not.”

When the earth runs out of oil, the rich will sell clean air and clean water at $100.00 a barrel in order to stay rich forever.

@SeanPLynch @oldclumsy_nowmad @augieray I think that before that we’re going to run out of soil to grow crops and people to tend whatever is left: they will have to eat their money, good luck with the bitcoins!

@augieray

Let's correct the title of this news item:

Yahoo News title:

Truthful title:
Trump Wants You and Me (Taxpayers) To Pay a Company Almost $1 billion To Cancel Its Wind Projects in New York and North Carolina

When are Americans going to realize that Trump rules on behalf of
First: himself
Second: large corporate donors
Third: people with leverage against him

Everyone else is just a means to his end.

@augieray
Oligarchy controls Pentagon without leadership, at many levels. The real big news that will be ignored tomorrow....

"The Pentagon is making detailed preparations for deploying U.S. ground forces into Iran." without a declaration of war from lame-ass criminal congress.

@SCALETHEORY @augieray Pentagon is always making “paper” preparations for possible future actions. Invading Iran would take twice the troops as invading Iraq

@EricFielding

Just now they're making prep? Yeah, it's usually months in advance. Damn...
Leadership really does suck even worse at more levels than originally thought. Knew it doesn't have foresight or insight to consequences, new generation billionaire silver-spoons (oligarchy) lacks that skill also i guess.
Time to fight back or it just keeps getting worse, if you know what I mean.

@EricFielding @augieray

What I say?
Always expect the worst from people from now on. People in power will abuse everything when anarchy is legal.

Pentagon orders!

"The Pentagon orders troops from the 82nd Airborne Division to deploy to the Middle East"
Stories out there, I don't support any media nor trust them to give links for their benefit.

Pentagon orders!

@SCALETHEORY @augieray Yes, I saw the news about the new deployment. The 2000 new troops are not a realistic force for invading Iran. Do you remember the size of the forces that were assembled before the invasion of Iraq in 2003? That would be too small for an invasion of Iran.
The Pentagon is sending some token deployments that could be used for small operations, not an invasion force.

@augieray

After all the lies he has told, why would any investor be 'calmed' by anything he says?

@bonaventuresoft

@augieray He can't continue his market manipulation while requesting billions to expand the war and sending the Marines to their slaughter. He can't bend reality to his will
@augieray Anyone can see that 2500 or 4500 Marines are not going to invade Iran with its million soldiers Army, so stock markets can be more calm
@EricFielding The reports aren't that the US will try to take Iran mainland but attempt to hold Kharg Island. And I'm not sure the stock market is reacting to the possible boots on the ground as much as they are the disruption to oil.
