It’s #boardgames today and we are trying “Monster Horrified”. It’s a cooperative game where you basically all do a #monsterdon film. We select random monsters to fight, random archetype characters, and try to kill the monsters before they kill us or the innocent civilians.

We fought

  • Dracula
  • The Creature from the Black Lagoon
  • The Invisible Man

We were

  • Scientist
  • Explorer
  • Mayor
  • Professor
  • Courier

We haven’t won or lost yet. I have been particularly inconsequential. Although I did kill Dracula I have mostly been fang fodder.

News flash: despite our best efforts, we won!
@paco did conventional weaponry fail?
@aburka
I ended up delivering the final blow to 2 of the 3 monsters. My chief strategy was dying. A lot.
@paco I’ve seen this played and thought it looked fun, but wouldn’t do well at my home table.

@tamonten It’s amusing. 2 critiques: like a lot of co-op games, if you have a dominating player, they can kinda take over. And there’s very little to do when it’s not your turn.

But it’s cute.

@paco That sounds really fun. I’ll check it out!
@paco Looks like they have a whole series of “Horrified" games with different monsters: https://www.ravensburger.us/en-US/products/games/board-games/horrified-american-monsters-60001940
