On this sunny #FreeCADFriday, I continue my bike series with a pair of leg clips.

Print them to protect your pants from the freshly greased bike chain! ✨

The clip is created from a single B-spline curve which is then offset using Part > 2D Offset. The chamfer had to be created manually using a sweep and its angle is optimized for improved printability.

Neat! Thanks for sharing, but I'm curious why you have one on the left.

I only secure my right (by tucking it into my socks) and it seems to suffice.

Also, thanks for sharing what software you use. Polls about which software people use are worthless compared to what is actually being built.

Actually, I only use one on the right ankle. I am not sure why some people use two, but the photo is kinda staged ;)

There is a community around the open-source tool FreeCAD showing off what they build with the software, especially on #FreeCADFriday s. Also, I love to share how I do things to empower other people as well. I always share my source file along with the printable file.
