She hasn't. She starts the story at 14 years old, and I haven't addressed her romantic life because she's under extremely stressful circumstances, and like ~80% of humanity, her libido basically shuts down for the duration. I want to get a little hint, at the end, that she's starting by them to get comfortable with the idea of dating, but that's all.

Yes, all the time. They all grew up in a supporting, permissive culture. Kids are *supposed* to speak up when they see something is wrong. They'll get listened to, and adults will act on it if appropriate.

The book is set 150-ish years in the future, so I think it would be fun to hire musicians and try to extrapolate some new genre of music that doesn't exist yet. It could go VERY wrong, but it could be amazing, too.
