Wtf, Microslop Outslopk sent me an email with a responded to email and instead of translating email "From" and "To" as German "Von" and "An", they transloped it to "Von" and "Bis" (so the equivalent of "From" and "Until", which in english is fine as "From" and "To").

Beautifully done Microslop, who cares about words, let's pretend nothing matters anyway and delete all translations Microsoft did right in the last 30 years and slop it

@floyd The same as with stupid translopations in Knowledge Base articles, where attribute and tag names are translated to German. Attributes and tags that are always in English, regardless which language the system is set to.

A few months ago, I noted that even their flagship product was getting “translated”: Windows → Fenster/Fenêtres/etc.

(OpenJDK download page, apparently fixed since then.)

@floyd I remember the same kind of high-quality translation work in another Microsoft piece of crap, in which a progress bar indicated "5 minutes gauche" in French (which is "left" the direction, not "left" remaining)
@floyd Don't blame Microslop for your desire to pain yourself with Outslop.
@janikvonrotz i don't microslop, it's just other sloppies who send me emails
@floyd Ah I see, you got slopped then.
@floyd This is the same company that thought it was a good idea to translate the "Re:" inserted into an email's subject line, making them sound a lot like eager dogs: "Re: AW: Re: AW: Re: AW: ..."

@floyd That aligns with Bing translations being the worst.

English: score (of Bing quiz)
German: word for musical score, not even remotely similar or even guessable

@floyd
Years ago i was in Great Britan. A youthhostel somewhere in kent...
There was a short advice how to use the gas-oven.

A sticker in english said: "Push and turn left"
A sticker in german beside said: "Drücken und links abbiegen"... 🤣🤣🤣

@floyd For a few months now, the button to download Microslop Office is labeled "Büro herunterladen" when using the German page and I think that's beautiful.
@floyd until isn’t fine in that respect in English either.
@floyd i remember OneDrive's website translations into french being complete whack for like half a year

they somehow got "Create new" wrong, using the feminine form of "new", which is, just incredible

the button showed a popup asking if you wanted to create a folder or different types of files, all of which are nouns using masculine forms in french
