Even the Russian Revolution, when it's pointed to as a model of a single specific event, involved decades of building alternative forms of social organization.

Then, continue to ensure that the flow of food arrives on shelves, that the supply lines function and the warehouses are full. The trucks may now be owned by their drivers and the shops may not charge for goods, but logistics is logistics and someone needs to make sure it runs.

AskPippa🇨🇦@Daojoan So if the economic system is quickly crushed, then we all get to starve for 20-30 (or 100?) years while the new system is built and ends up being pretty much the same as the old system. It all starts with surplus, then trade. Then currency. And then a more complex system to manage it all.
Chao-c'@Daojoan I totally agree, that its nonsense, partly because I spent my childhood in the aftermath on one such attempt, and then my whole young and middle life in an attempt to rebuild what was supposedly teared down, but which in itself built lot of things, some of them weird, some useful.
But it seems to me, that the world economics is now trying to run according to the book written in 1776, so it is not such a big difference. The steam engine of 1867, which initiated global warming, was nonexistent in 1776 and it is obsolete now. There is no easy way out. We need up do date books and up to date theories.

Because that’s why there is no plan for Thursday. There was never any plan in that book to overthrow the patriarchy, and the first Thursday after the Revolution was always going to be just another day that ends in Y.
