Five years ago today, after listening to some negative discussion on @atpfm, someone on Twitter angrily predicted that “in 5 years, Tesla will have a marketcap at least 5 times larger than Apple.” I made a calendar event for this prediction, because I am petty. But now the account that posted it has deleted all its tweets, ruining the fun.

@siracusa My transcript search site is woefully out of date (my Mac Mini and gaming PC are furiously making transcripts with Whisper right now) but it did hone in on this episode/timestamp fairly well (third result, second if 'airpod max updates' which is annoying)

@raymaccarthy Musk has been good at finding government handouts which makes it funny that he wanted to run "Doge" to find waste and fraud. He probably thought lots of other folks were getting "free" government money like he has done with SpaceX, and Tesla. I don't disagree with his objectives, but I do with his methods and whatever "values" he has.

@siracusa @atpfm This is why information on mastodon is generally more reliable than twitter. Any nobody can post something on Twitter and it can go viral. On mastodon, an account has to have a history of good toots to gain followers. They can't just create an account to post something for shock value and delete the account afterword.
