NVIDIA DLSS 5 has become the source of many memes as the backlash continues

Oh deary me, NVIDIA have a bit of a wildfire on their hands here, with NVIDIA DLSS 5 being compared with AI generated slop "art".

@gamingonlinux I guess this says it all:

"it's hard not to laugh at how it changes character faces into what looks exactly like you would imagine generative AI beautification looksmaxxing tools would do. Or, yassifying, if you will. I'm learning a lot of new silly words thanks to this. This is the kind of stupid AI generative filtering I would have expected from some sort of AI porn generation website, not from the likes of NVIDIA. Who cares about art direction when you can plump up the lips of a character right?"

@gamingonlinux The slop is real with this feature
@gamingonlinux so in worst case everyone can look really different the next time you play?
@aho @gamingonlinux if you are lucky, they will do so in every scene

@gamingonlinux Yeah, the visual equivalent of Elevator Music. Technically it's music, but it can never be a banger.

I wonder when people will realize that it's not about the sheer amount of detail - but the use of detail in the right spots…

@gruni @gamingonlinux human beings still made elevator music. Make. Or did. I'm sure some companies are using slop for that now. But.
@gamingonlinux I'm so surprised by the number of people who still think this looks great and are positive about this really makes me lose my faith in humanity

@gamingonlinux I find it extremely funny how the thing "enhances" all the faces, but keeps the absolutely horrendous shadow bias artifacts on the football shirts.

@gamingonlinux My God, what a horrible thing, it even looks like the videos generated by Sora.

@gamingonlinux
